How my review could effect my paper

My review on Kayla's paper made me think about how I can apply some of the things I told her to my own paper. I feel that I can also be more concise. I also feel that I could do a better job in connecting my thoughts to the idea as a whole.

Introduction and Methods

Introduction When someone thinks of college, one of the first things that comes to their mind is greek life. From all the movies, TV shows, and stories people tell, there is a preconceived notion that being involved in greek life is directly correlated to an increase in alcohol consumption. However, many individuals have the opposite opinion and fight for the fact that there is absolutely no relationship between the two. This subject is significant because it has a major effect on society, in that every parent worries about sending their children off to college where greek life is extremely prevalent. Does being involved in greek life directly correlate to an increase in alcohol consumption? According to AddictionCenter (2018), “ 4 out of 5 fraternity and sorority members are binge drinkers. Survey Questions

1. Are you involved in greek life at your university? 2. Are you in a fraternity or a sorority? 3. How often do you consume alcohol? (Days out of the week) 4. When you drink, how many drinks do you consume? (On average) 5. Did you notice an increase in alcohol consumption from before and during being involved in Greek life?

Topic Proposal

I will write about whether or not being in a fraternity or sorority affects alcohol consumption. I chose this topic because there are many controversies about topics with greek life and whether or not they are positive or negative. Research Questions: 1. Does being involved in greek life affect alcohol consumption? 2. Does gender matter in this case? I plan on doing a survey on students both in and out of greek life on if they drink and if so, how much they drink.

IMRaD Report Differences

There are many different styles of writing and each have their own techniques and purposes. For example, IMRaD and argumentative writing. They both have differences in what their purposes are and how they are written.         The major difference is that an IMARaD paper is scientific. For example, you include your methods, results, etc. These are all scientific terms in which you conduct some sort of primary research. On the other hand, an argumentative piece of writing will focus on proving a point without necessarily conducting your own research (primary research).
