What does this assignment ask me to do? (Major Writing #1)

After reading the Analytical Report guidelines, I have a basic understanding of not only how to do the paper, but also why we are doing this type of report. The assignment asks us to find someone who is an advanced writer in our field of study and interview them. In this interview we will look into both the academic and non-academic genres of writing that he or she does. We will then take note and write a one thousand, two hundred and fifty word report on the many things that the person does on a day to day basis when it comes to writing. For example, how much time per day the person spends writing. The reason that we do this report is to give us more information and insight as to how much writing is used in our field of study. Furthermore, another reason that we do this is to increase our familiarity with this type of report or style of writing. This assignment reminds me of a project that I had to do in English class in which I had to interview one of my grandparents. The interview asked questions about the traditions that used to be held in the family at the time of their youth. After the interview we had to write an essay about how tradition either changes or is kept throughout the generations.

Some questions that I have about the assignment are:
1. How much of the content in my report should come from the website that gives us additional information about the writing in that profession as opposed to the information from the interview itself?
2. Can you explain the difference between academic and non-academic a little more thoroughly?
3. Are the six sources that need to be cited from the website that gives us additional information about the writing in the profession?
